What Are Dental Implants?
ACE Dental of Temple is proud to offer implant dentistry services to patients who have lost one or more teeth. Dental implants are inserted into the jaw and function in a similar way to natural tooth roots. Once they fuse with the bone, implants can then be used to support a lifelike implant-retained crown, bridge, or denture, which replaces the visible portions of missing teeth. Dental implants can offer increased stability, biting power, and a natural appearance following tooth loss. If you are looking to replace missing teeth, or have teeth that are damaged and must be extracted, we invite you to meet with one of our skilled general dentists. Our team can review your tooth replacement options and help get you back to enjoying a beautiful, confident smile after tooth loss.

Are You a Candidate for Dental Implants?
You may be a good candidate for dental implants if you are missing one, several, or an entire arch of teeth or need to have non-restorable teeth replaced. Some Temple, TX patients choose implants as an alternative to traditional or removable tooth replacement options. To be a good candidate for dental implants, it is often essential to have a certain level of bone in your jaw. If necessary, our dentists may recommend bone grafting services to rebuild lost bone and prepare your jaw for a dental implant procedure. Implants may not be ideal if you have certain health issues, are undergoing care for gum disease, or use tobacco products.
What Is the Treatment Process?
At ACE Dental of Temple, we use advanced digital imaging and cone beam scans to plan out your implant dentistry procedure. Implant surgery is completed under local anesthetic, which may be combined with nitrous oxide sedation to enhance your comfort. Once you are numb, our team will make an incision in your gums and insert the titanium implant(s) into your jaw. Over the next few months, your post(s) will bond with your bone and integrate into your jaw. At this point, our team will take a digital iTero impression of your mouth and have your custom implant crown, bridge, or denture crafted by our partner dental lab. When it is finalized, we will have you return to our office and connect your restoration(s) securely to your dental implants.
Recovery Following Implant Placement
Following your implant surgery, you may have some temporary bruising, tenderness, and swelling. You can typically relieve these symptoms with over-the-counter pain medication or cold packs against the jaw. Instructions on how to care for your mouth and what to expect as you heal will be provided by our team. After your dental implants have fused with your jaw and your custom restorations are attached, you can brush and floss your tooth replacements just like you do your natural teeth. We will use special instruments to clean your implants and monitor their condition when you visit our Temple, TX practice for routine preventive care.
Are Implants Covered by Dental Insurance?
A portion of the implant dentistry procedure may be covered under some dental insurance plans. Before getting started, our business team will contact your provider and help maximize any insurance benefits you may have. ACE Dental of Temple is dedicated to offering affordable care and accepts convenient payment options to help you fit personal dental costs into your budget. Please speak with our team about flexible payment solutions, such as low-interest medical financing plans.
